The Transport Research Institute at Edinburgh Napier University was established in 1996. Since its inauguration, it has developed an enviable track record in delivering high quality transport research, consultancy and other knowledge transfer projects within an applied setting.
TRI's Maritime Research Team has a particularly strong international profile, with experience in research, consultancy and providing advice to governments across five continents. TRI organises many conferences and events through the course of any given year, but has the particular experience of Prof. Kevin Cullinane having led the organisation of the highly successful IAME 2001 in Hong Kong. TRI is also part of a consortium organising IAME 2011 in Chile.
TRI members possess national and world-leading, reputations in a number of fields that cross virtually all areas of academic expertise including engineering, modelling, computing, economics, psychology, sociology and geography. Our experience in applying these disciplinary skills to the transport arena has been gained in a diverse variety of contexts, with projects covering applications in all modal and intermodal situations within Scotland, the wider UK and elsewhere.
TRI provides a unique resource for the development and delivery of high quality inputs particularly into maritime transport research, consultancy and other knowledge transfer projects.
